2、當灑水噴頭開放時，報警閥的系統側壓力降低，水流推動閥瓣開啟，進入系統側管網。同時，水流經溝槽小孔進入報警水道，少部份水流通過泄水孔排放，大部分水流進入延遲器。當延遲器蓄滿以后，水流推動水力警鈴報警，同時壓力開關輸出開關觸點信號，連鎖消防水泵。

注：延遲器可以進一步防止水流波動引起的誤動作，閥瓣誤動以后，會自動復位，在延遲器蓄滿以前，水可以經泄水孔放空。
